Summary--great place to stock up on good quality staples, and to get really good deals on a limited variety of premium items. Service is efficient--but don't expect someone to hold your hand throughout your shopping experience. If you need sensitive service and a complete selection of boutique items, go to Whole Paycheck.
Very good prices, no-nonsense service. Selection is "selective"--Aldi frequently picks one brand to feature for particular items, and while the prices are uniformly excellent, if you don't agree with their preference, you might be disappointed.
Bring a quarter to get your cart (you get it back when you return the cart to the corral). At the Fitchburg location, the cashiers told me they give a quarter to folks you aren't carrying them, but that might have been the day or the particular cashier.
They generally stock the basics. Produce is hit and miss. Prices are good. They add new items on a regular basis and are starting to stock more ethnic choices.
Great place to buy wine and candy. Fresh produce and good prices. Lousy to non-existent customer with rude cashiers.
Not the best or the cheapest but if you compare fruits and veggies prices you frequently find good deals. Too many off brands. If you are concerned with ingredients, some are very good; lots are just pure sugar and chemicals. Don't forget to bring your own bags.
